Mocs Minutes: Basketballs Welcome Nova Southeastern Saturday

  • Florida Southern is back at home after a close loss to Saint Leo ending their four game win streak. With 12 seconds left in the game, Sara Wohlgemuth scored to bring the Mocs within three when they ended the game with Saint Leo making a free throw for the final score of 70-66. Julia Jenike led the team with 16 points, followed by Sara Wohlgemuth with 12. Defensively, Julia Jenike, Whitney Jacob, and Marissa Jenike all had 2 steals.
  • On the season, Whitney Jacob leads the team in scoring and is second in the conference with a 17.0 per game average and 221 overall points.   • Florida Southern is coming off a tough 99-90 loss in overtime to Saint Leo on Wednesday which the Moccasins show resilience and battled back to tie things in the final minutes of play. E.J. Dambreville led the team in scoring with 24 points and was second on the team in rebounding with 10, to Wes Bongiorni's team-high and career-high 13 rebounds. Xavier Rhodes added 17 points for the Mocs where Deandre Campbell and Olafur Gunnlaugsson tallied 18 and 15 points, respectively, off the bench.
  • On the season, as a team, the Mocs average 80.8 points with Rhodes leading the way in scoring with 15.3 points per game (ppg). Jack Casale, Dambreville, and Tarik Mckelphin each average double-figures at 13.8, 13.7, and 13.5, respectively. Dambreville leads the team in rebounding with 11.1 per game, 155 on the season.
