BABSON PARK, Fla. - Florida Southern College beach volleyball captured a pair of wins on Wednesday afternoon taking down Webber International University 4-1 in game one and 3-2 in game two.
The Moccasins (8-0) swept the dual taking down the NAIA #5 ranked Warriors (0-5) of the 10 total pairings on the day, the Mocs only saw two games go to three sets, winning both of those games.
Emma Winford and
Ashli McKenny took care of their matches 2-0 as Winford and Mckenny defeated Webbers No. 1 flight 21-13, 21-14 in game one, and 21-16, 21-14 in game two.
Sarah Crocker and
Reagan Carlton won game one in three sets, 19-21, 22-20, 15-12 but had to fight hard in game two, unfortunately falling to Webber, 21-14, 24-22 in the number two pair.
In the number three duo,
Christina Ramazio and
Sydney Melcher paired up, rallying to a 21-15, 18-21, 15-13 win before falling in the second game, 21-10, 21-11.
Hayley St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti paired up and played the No. 4 flight for the Moccasins as the duo fell 23-21. 21-18. St. Martin joined up with
Chloe Maxwell in game two versus the Warriors taking down the #4 duo, 21-18, 21-17.
Jackie Schner and
Hailey Carefoot opened up game one in the No.5 flight earning the win, 21-10, 21-15, before taking down Webber in game two, 21-16, 21-16.
In exhibition play,
Madeline Sanders paired up with Maxwell paired up against Webber in game one winning in straight sets, 21-13, 21-14
Emma Hufford joined Sanders as the duo fell 21-17, 21-19.
Florida Southern Beach Volleyball returns to action on March 8-9 as they travel to Mount Berry, Ga. to compete in the Briggs Beach Bash. The Mocs face Truett-McConnell first on March 8 with a 10 a.m. start.
