TAVARES, Fla. - The Florida Southern College beach volleyball team improves to 19-1 after winning two against Lake Sumter State Community College on Monday in Tavares, Fla.
The Mocs (19-1) swept the Lake Hawks winning both games first with a 5-0 sweep and later with a 4-1 win.

The Mocs scored two-set wins on two of the five courts, as No. 2 court
Sarah Crocker and
Reagan Carlton won 21-17 and 21-14. On the fifth court,
Hailey Carefoot and
Jackie Schner got the two-set win, taking down their opponent first 21-15 before dominating the final set 21-5. The next three courts battled against the Lake Hawks in three sets beginning with
Emma Winford and
Ashli McKenny falling 17-21 before winning straight sets 21-10, 15-10 against Lopez and Hunt at court one. At court three,
Hayley St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti dominated set one with a 21-17 score before falling in set two 19-21 to force a third to win the flight 15-9. At No. 4,
Christina Ramazio and
Sydney Melcher won 21-18, 17-21, 15-12 for a three-set win against Andrews and Cox.
In exhibition play,
Madeline Sanders and
Emma Hufford beat Calton and Pickle 21-15, 21-19.
FLORIDA SOUTHERN 4, LAKE SUMTER 1
In its second match of the day, the Mocs continued to stay hot with another win. Winford and McKenny won 21-19, 21-11 for their second flight win of the day. Crocker and Carlton took down their opponent 21-17, 21-17 at court #2. St. Martin and Muti won in three sets by a 21-13, 19-21, 15-11 score as Carefoot and Schner won 23-21, 21-13 in the fifth court.
On the fourth court, Ramazio and Melcher gave it their best, falling to Andrews and Cox 2-17, 21-18. In the exhibition, Sanders and Hufford won against Lake Sumter this time against Pickle and Memmoli with a 21-19, 21-9 final.
The Mocs return to action on Wednesday as they take a short trip to Saint Leo to face off against the Lions after a match against Eckerd at 2:00 p.m.
