TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Southern College beach volleyball team returns for the second day of the Tampa Invitational with a rematch against Palm Beach Atlantic ending in a 4-1 loss, before going up against the University of Tampa for a 5-0 loss.

The Mocs (20-6) faced off first with the Sailfish (14-15) for a rematch after a close loss on the first day of the Tampa Invitational. In the second game of the day, Florida Southern faced off against the host team University of Tampa (16-9).

Florida Southern 1, Palm Beach Atlantic 4
The first game on the docket was a rematch against Palm Beach Atlantic, who had defeated Florida Southern the day prior in a close 3-2 loss. On court one,
Emma Winford and
Ashli McKenny teamed up against Gabriella Aziz and Abigail Mason, taking it to three before falling to their opponents in the third set, with a final match score of 12-21, 21-12, 11-15. Court four came next with duo
Christina Ramazio and
Sydney Melcher taking the court win against their opponents, Katelyn Nadeau and Julia Norville, 21-17, 21-18. On flight three,
Hayley St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti fell 18-21, 13-21 against duo Eva Herz and Karla Cantero.

With PBA up 2-1, all eyes turned to courts five and two to see if the Sailfish would claim the deciding point. Court five's match finished first, with Florida Southern's
Hailey Carefoot and
Jackie Schner falling in the first set 14-21 before rallying for a close second set 20-22, with Palm Beach Atlantic claiming the winning point.
Sarah Crocker and
Reagan Carlton in flight court two were the last off the sand after an intense match, taking it to the third set before falling 23-21, 19-21, 12-15.

The Mocs faced off against the Spartans, falling in all flights. On the No.1 court, duo Winford and McKenney returned, falling 15-21, 12-21 to Olivia Margolies and Payton Brunick. On the No.2 court, Crocker and Carlton faced off against the Spartans' Keely Hamilton and Madison Brunick for a final 16-21,13-21 match loss. On the third flight court, St. Martin and Muti faced off against sisters Nevaeh and Hailey Wolfe, falling 14-21, 13-21. Ramazio and Melcher took to the No.4 court, falling in a 6-21, 13-21 loss. Lastly, Carefoot and Schner suffered a 10-21, 16-21 court loss at the fifth court.

FSC returns to the sand on April 6 as they travel back to Tampa for a tri-match. The Mocs are scheduled to face off in rematches against both Eckerd College and University of Tampa. The first serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
