TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Southern College beach volleyball faced off against Eckerd College and then the University of Tampa for the last regular season match of the 2024 season. The Mocs faced off against the Tritons, ending in a 4-1 loss, then moving on to the Spartans for a tough 5-0 loss.
Florida Southern (20-8) first faced off against Eckerd College (6-16) for the first game of the day, ending in a 4-1 loss. For the second game of the day, the Mocs faced off against the host team again for a rematch, ultimately falling to the Spartans (18-9) in a 5-0 loss.

The Mocs faced off against Tritons winning the No.2 match as
Sarah Crocker and
Reagan Carlton with a dominating 21-12, 21-10 final.
Ashli McKenny and
Emma Winford fought hard in the opening set but fell in two sets 22-20, 21-15. The only other match that finished in two sets was the No. 3 pairing, as
Hayley St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti fell 21-10 and 21-16. The No. 4 pair of
Christina Ramazio and
Sydney Melcher fell to the Tritons in three sets along the final court of
Jackie Schner and
Hailey Carefoot as Ramazio and Melcher forced a third after the winning the second set, 19-21, 21-16, but dropped number three 7-15. Schner and Carefoot battled it out in the last two sets winning set one 21-9, before having set two slip away 21-23, and then in set three barely falling 11-15.
In exhibition action, the Mocs captured the win as
Chloe Maxwell and
Madeline Sanders won 21-9, 21-19.

Florida Southern faced off against the Spartans for a rematch but again fell in all five flights. In the first flight, duo Winford and McKenney fell against their Spartan opponents, Olivia Margolies and Payton Brunick, 15-21, 13-21. Crocker and Carlton fought a tough match on the second flight court, taking it to the third set before finally falling 21-16, 16-21, 11-15. St. Martin and Muti teamed up again to play against Nevaeh and Hailey Wolfe in the third flight, falling 6-21, 14-21 to the Spartans. Ramazio and Melcher teamed up in the fourth flight falling 11-19, 19-21 to Cassidy Ehrie and Angel Williams. In the last flight, Carefoot and Schner fell 17-21, 10-21 to the Spartans.
The Sandy Mocs will return for the AVCA Small College Championship at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, Fla. on April 12. Opponents and times will be released at a later time.
