Beach Volleyball Set to Open 2025 Season This Weekend at Home

Hear from Florida Southern College broadcast analyst Karl Van Gelder and head beach volleyball coach Makena Wilson '20 about the 2025 season. The season kicks off with a tri-match against Warner University and Lake Sumter Community College on Saturday, February 1st at the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts in Lakeland, Fla.
 
Wilson who was named to the #53 NCAA Women Coaches Academy in the summer of 2024 is ready to get her third year as head coach started. 
 
FSC had a big improvement from last season as they went 23-11 overall, starting with a historic 13-0 start to the season. With more challenges still to come, Wilson is going to look to several key returners to bring the Mocs success. This year being the first season beach volleyball is competing as an official sport in the Sunshine State Conference.
