LAKELAND, Fla. – Simon DeVoss, a senior from Mims, Fla, and a member of the Florida Southern College men's cross country team, has been named the Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week for the week of September 29 through October 5, 2025.
DeVoss led the Moccasins to a team victory at the 26th Annual FLRunners.com Invitational, securing the individual championship with a time of 26:09.47 on the 8K course. FSC achieved a perfect score of 15 points by occupying the top nine individual spots in the standings, defeating conference opponents Tampa, Palm Beach Atlantic, Lynn, and Eckerd. This victory marks the first of DeVoss' career.
This award is the first weekly honor for DeVoss and the first for Florida Southern since October 21, 2024, when
Christian Giller earned his third accolade of the 2024 season.
The Moccasins will next be in action Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill.
