LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College beach volleyball swept a pair of matches Saturday afternoon to open the 2025 season 2-0 with wins over Warner University and Polk State College at the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts.

The Moccasins (2-0) opened with a 4-1 sweep over the Warner Royals before a 5-0 win over the Polk State Eagles. Of the 10 total pairings on the day, the Mocs fell in just one match and only saw one game go to three sets.

Hailey Carefoot and
Reagan Carlton in the two pairs along with
Hayley St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti in the four pairs got the morning going with straight set wins. Carefoot and Carlton won 21-10, 21-8 followed by a 21-17, 21-15 win for St. Martin and Muti.Â

Against Polk State the pairs stayed the same as Carefoot and Carlton won 21-13 before a 21-8 close out. The only three set match was St. Martin and Muti as they rallied with Alan Rios-Tajadillo and Ella Lopez for a 21-15, 20-22, and 15-9.Â

The next wins on the day were in pairs three and five as
Sydney Melcher and
Nicole Eden dominated the first set 21-7 and finished with a 21-11 set against Warner. Next,
Christina Ramazio and
Zoe Lowe put up a 21-15, 22-20 win against their Warner opponent.Â

Against Polk the duo of Melcher and Eden won set one 21-16, before dominating the second set 21-8.
Isabella Muti teamed up with Lowe in the final match as the pair dominated both sets with a 21-8, 21-3 final.Â

Continuing the dynamic duo from last year
Emma Winford and
Ashli McKenny paired up as the number ones and struggled in the opening match falling to Warner's Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnacht 21-19, 21-12, before topping Polk State's B Dos Santos Correa and Sophia Torres 21-11, 21-7.Â
