LAKELAND, Fla. – On TeamTrippy DIPG Awareness night, No. 4 Florida Southern women's lacrosse rolled past Alabama-Huntsville Thursday night at Berend Field at the Barnett Athletic Complex, 19-6. The Moccasins raised awareness for #TeamTrippyFoundation and DIPG cancer at the game where ticket money and donations were accepted to help benefit kids battling cancer.

Florida Southern moves to 8-0 on the season after another strong even performance across the board. Ten different goal scorers found the back of the net but it was
Giana Murphy pacing the team with five goals. She would add on one assist to finish second in total points behind
Abby McFerren who registered two goals but had a game-high five assists for seven points.Â

Rylie Rittberg played the opening 45 minutes and earned the win before turning it over to
Rebekah Bargeron and
Chloe Webber to close out the game.
Maria Reeves won 14 draw controls which ties the second most for a single game in program history, after dominating the circle as the Moccasins won the battle at the draw 21-to-7.
Audrey Cannelli chipped in three, Vetter two, Curtin and Murphy one each. Vetter continued to pack the stat sheet leading the team in caused turnovers (3) with a pair of Mocs at two for the game,
Brayden Cannelli and
Ava Hawk.Â

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) five players score a goal led by Ella Rutherford and Ava Fudjinski with a pair each, while Reagan Flanagan and Sarah Cole found the back of the net once. Isabelle Sawicki played all 60 minutes between the pipes and made seven saves on 26 Moccasin shots on goal.

UAH scored the game's first goal before Florida Southern ripped off four straight to take a 4-1 lead. The Chargers would add another, but the Moccasins answered with a pair to end the quarter with a 6-2 lead.

Much like the first, Florida Southern won the second quarter 5-2 for a commanding 11-4 lead before going 8-2 over the final two quarters for the 19-6.
Grace Curtin's goal at the 11:13 mark in the second quarter was credited as the game winning goal, which was her fourth of the season before finishing the game with another late in the third quarter. Â

No. 4 Florida Southern remains at home and will refocus its energy as the Moccasins welcome the No. 2 Pace Setters (5-0) to Berend Field Sunday, March 16 for a noon opening draw.
