LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College Men's Lacrosse team celebrated senior night prior to their match-up with #13/#12 Colorado Mesa Saturday night at Berend Field. The Moccasins honored 14 seniors before the riveting contest, where they earned their largest lead of the season and took down Colorado Mesa 15-8.

On the Offensive side, junior
Nolan Tighe aided the team to victory with a hat trick and 5 total goals. Defensively, senior
Michael Simone had seven crucial saves throughout the contest.
The Mocs came out strong in a physical first quarter, with
Nolan Tighe getting a hat trick to give the Mocs a 3-1 lead. To close out the quarter Maddox Walton and Carter Vailaincourt each tallied a goal, giving Florida Southern a 5-2 lead going into the second quarter.
In the second quarter,
Caiden Wiech was quick to score his first goal of the season, bringing the Moccasins' lead to six goals on the board to Colorado Mesa's three.
Jack Epley,
Jacob Czyz, and senior
Brydon Robichaud all added to the count, leaving the score a strong 9-5 lead going into the second half.
The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, with only two tallies added, which came by the way of Walton and Tighe pushing Florida Southern up 11-6 heading to the final quarter of play.
The Moccasins kept the energy and aggression high in the fourth quarter with an upset in sight, with
Jack Epley and
Nolan Tighe adding more points to their total. To close out the senior night game, Robichaud scored the final goal, handing the Mocs a 15-8 victory.
Florida Southern will resume conference play as they prepare to take on #16 Saint Leo next Saturday, March 22. Faceoff is set for noon at Berend Field.
