LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College beach volleyball team split the tri-match on Saturday afternoon, winning game one 5-0 over Lake Sumter Community College before a 3-2 loss over Palm Beach State College on senior day.
Prior to the match the Moccasins (18-8) honored its eight departing Sandy Mocs

Nicole Eden, and
Reagan Carlton.
All flights in the first watch were won in straight sets minus the third court, who won in three sets to start the morning with a 5-0 sweep over Lake Sumter. Winford and
Ashli McKenny continue to be the force at the top flight winning 21-10, 21-15. Eden and
Sydney Melcher had the largest margin of victory on the day, winning 21-15 before dominating the second set for a 21-8 final score. The third flight with Lowe and
Isabella Muti rallied to win in three sets winning set one 21-16, falling in the second set 16-21, before winning by two in the final set 15-13.
Continuing the duo action from last weekend, Carlton and
Madeline Sanders won at the fourth flight with a 21-11, 21-17 final. St. Martin and
Mary Olivia Muti followed with the final win at the fifth court winning 21-19, 21-13 to sweep the first match 5-0.
In the second match for FSC, they faced Palm Beach State College falling in three matches with two of the three being tough three-set losses.
Winford and McKenny fell in the top flight after winning the first set 21-14 but dropped the next two 21-12, 17-15. On the second court, Melcher and Eden saw a competitive No.2 flight as they fell to Salome Galvez Lira and Geeske Campa 21-12, 21-14. The two wins for the Mocs were from the third and fifth court, with Carlton and Lowe earning a straight set win, 21-16, 21-17 followed by St. Martin and Muti won 21-16, 21-15.
Switching off the pairs
Sarah Idler and Muti won the first set at the fourth court, 21-18 before falling in the next two 21-14, 15-6 to drop the final game of the day, 3-2.
That concludes the Sandy Mocs regular season as they await the pairings of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. The inaugural tournament is scheduled to begin Friday, April 11, at the courts' Saint Leo Beach Volleyball courts.
