LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida Southern College (5-1) achieved a remarkable 5-0 victory over both St. Johns River State College (2-2) and Palm Beach State College (5-1) at the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts, sweeping all ten matches across the two contests.

In the first match against St. Johns River State College, the Moccasins set the tone early with strong performances. On Court 4,
Ella Pringle and
Lauren Passaglia quickly dispatched Emma York and Jessica Horn, winning with scores of 21-11, 21-12. The No. 2 duo of
Hailey Carefoot and
Sarah Idler followed up with a solid win over Elisa Stoltzfus and Paola Aviles Morales, finishing 21-14, 21-16.
Sophie Harris and
Victoria Rushing in the No. 5 flight secured the decisive third point by defeating Mallory Goodyear and Natilee Collins 21-11, 21-5. In the subsequent matches,
Sydney Melcher and
Ryla Bryant overcame Lovina Teel and Alice Peixoto, winning 21-17, 21-13, while
Isabella Muti and
Mary Olivia Muti completed the sweep against Mckala Peters and Andrea Reyes, with a score of 21-11, 21-8.

Following that victory, Florida Southern again showcased their dominance against Palm Beach State College. On Court 4, Pringle and Passaglia faced a tough challenge but ultimately triumphed over Georgie Vanloo and Liepa Kucinskaite in a three-set battle, finishing with scores of 17-21, 21-16, 15-8. The No. 2 pair, Carefoot and Idler, secured another point with a tightly contested match, winning 21-12, 23-25, 15-6 against C Villegas Gonzalez and L Villegas Gonzalez. The Muti sisters, Isabella and Mary Olivia, clinched the dual for the Moccasins by overcoming Gunda Brazaite and Chloe Sumich in a thrilling match that ended 21-12, 19-21, 16-14. Melcher and Bryant also won in three sets against Tamara Streli and Emma Acedo Lapieza, with scores of 17-21, 21-11, 15-6, while Harris and Rushing capped off the clean sweep, rallying back to defeat Kadence Roche and Emma Hannagan after dropping the first set, 19-21, 24-22, 15-11.
In exhibition action against Palm Beach State
Aubrey Wieser and
Lily Schlageter  joined forces and took on Jenna Heywang and Jady Mainofli winning in three sets, 21-17, 15-21, 15-10.

Florida Southern now holds an overall record of 5-1, while St. Johns River State College is at 2-2. Looking ahead, the Moccasins will face Barry University on Friday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. The match will take place at the Sailfish Beach Volleyball Courts in Saint Leo, Florida.
