BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The No. 3 Florida Southern men's golf team clinched the top spot in Medal Match Play of the 2026 Division II Men's Golf National Championship. The Mocs finished stroke play with a score of 829 (-35) at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Tyler Mistretta shot a career-low 64, propelling himself to a third-place finish. In his third NCAA Stroke Play appearance, Mistretta finished third, with an 11-under 205. The graduate student carded nine birdies and one bogey en route to his eight-under round.
Anthony Monteleone also posted a top-10 finish in stroke play, finishing tied-4th. The freshman shot 10-under through the three rounds, finishing with a 3-under 69 in the final round. He carded three birdies and added an eagle on the par-5 on hole 13.
Both Mistretta and Monteleone were honored with top-10 finishes in stroke play.
Max Barile shot his best round of the tournament with a 4-under 68. He finished stroke play tied-14th at 7-under. The senior carded eight birdies in the round.
Colton Swartz and Donte Groppuso both finished stroke play tied-23rd. Both Groppuso and Swartz shot 2-under 70's on the day, finishing 4-under overall. Both Groppuso and Swartz carded four birdies in the round.
All five Mocs birdied the par-5 on hole 16.
Florida Southern clinched the top spot in Medal Match Play, while Octavio Laurent of USCB was named the individual national champion, with a 17-under three-round score of 199.

Florida Southern will return to Boulder Creek Golf Club tomorrow to begin medal match play. The Mocs will face the eighth-place Colorado Christian Cougars at 8:20 AM PT from tee one.
