LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida Southern College women's cross country opened the 2026 season with a first-place victory at the Uncle Nick's Swan City Bagel Run at Holloway Park Saturday morning. FSC's Grace Reed won, posting a time of 14:45.7.

The Moccasins finished first in the women's 4K team results with 23 points, a total time of 1:16:20, and an average time of 15:16. Led by Reed, the Mocs took six out of the top 10 times, placing first, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and 10th. Second place for team scoring went to the University of Tampa with 40 points, Southeastern University in third with 75 points, Eastern Florida in fourth with 122 points, South Florida State College in fifth with 144 points, and Warner in sixth with 186 points. 

Reed had the top time for the Mocs by placing first in 14:45.7 with an average mile of 5:56.3. Hannah Harris finished fourth in 15:20.1, Emma Howes placed fifth in 15:20.9, Emma Pfeiffer was sixth in 15:22.0, Nika Gividen finished seventh in 15:31.7, and Heloise Pinto in 10th with 15:49.0 as the top 10 times among all runners. 

Florida Southern Continued to have top running scores with Grace Mooney in 11th overall with a time of 15:51.0, Reagan Chambless in 14th with a time of 16:02.1. Top 30 finishers, and rounding out the top 10 runners for the Mocs included Madison Boyko in 27th (16:32.4), Hope Schoenwetter in 28th (16:38.3), and Sindy Moncada in 29th (16:41.4). 

The Mocs will race next in the FSU Invite on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
