Lubbock Christian Cruises Past UVA Wise

LAKELAND, Fla. — Lubbock Christian University defeated the University of Virginia's College at Wise 90-52 at Jenkins Field House to open up the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, with Lubbock Christian leading throughout the game.
The game began with Amondo Miller Jr. scoring a layup for the Chaps just 38 seconds into the first half. The Chaps quickly expanded their lead with a 3-pointer from Alex Anamekwe at 18:41 and continued their offensive momentum with another 3-pointer by Lucas Mercandino at 17:20, pushing the score to 8-0. UVA Wise responded with a layup by Evan Ramsey at 17:00 to get on the board. Despite efforts from FSC, including a 3-pointer by Patrick Shelley at 12:40, the Chaps maintained control throughout the half. The first half ended with the Chaps leading 42-24.
Lubbock Christian dominated the second half, quickly extending their lead with a layup from Miller Jr. just 21 seconds into the half. Kendall Dow's 3-pointer at 18:38, assisted by Anamekwe, further widened the gap. The Cavalier's struggled offensively, missing several field goal attempts, while the Chaps capitalized with efficient shooting and strong rebounding, evidenced by Antonio Pusateri's layup at 18:05. Despite some scoring from the Cavalier's including a layup by Yoro Diallo at 6:45, the Chaps maintained control, closing the half with a 48-28 advantage.
Diallo recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, adding two steals to his performance. Ramsey led in scoring with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting, also contributing eight rebounds and a block. Kam Roberts matched Diallo in points, securing 10 on 5-for-12 shooting. Anderson Cummins provided support with five points and three assists, while grabbing four boards.
Miller Jr. led the Chaps with 19 points, shooting 58.3% from the field, and contributed nine rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Anamekwe added 18 points, connecting on four 3-pointers, while also recording eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Pusateri was a dominant force inside, scoring 19 points on 75% shooting and pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds. Mercandino chipped in 11 points, hitting three 3-pointers, and Dow matched with 11 points, including two 3-pointers.
