Now in her second year at Florida Southern after playing her first two seasons at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens where she was the Bobcats’ starting first baseman for most of those two years while playing for head coach Jeffrey Norman… One of six seniors on this year’s team and has played in 59 games over three seasons between St. Thomas and Florida Southern.

AS A JUNIOR (2017)
Appeared in four games and started both ends of a doubleheader at Rollins (March 4) where she had a hit and a walk in six plate appearances.

At St. Thomas (2015-16) … Played in 55 games in two seasons, making a total of 50 starts… Committed only two errors in 239 chances for a .992 fielding percentage… Had 31 hits in 132 at-bats (.235), hit three doubles, drove in eight runs, scored nine runs, and stole one base in her career at St. Thomas… Started all but one game as a freshman… Third on the team with a .274 batting average (20-for-73), had one double and six RBI… Drew four walks and struck out only two times in 73 at-bats for a .312 on-base percentage… Added two sacrifice bunts and was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts… Went 3-for-9 in four games against Barry… Committed only one error in 123 chances for a team-leading .992 fielding percentage… Appeared in 10 games as a pitcher with four starts… Winning pitcher in the Bobcats’ 14-4 win over Michigan-Dearborn in which she pitched two scoreless innings of relief (March 2)… Also had a hit, a walk and career-high three RBI in that game… Played in 26 games as a sophomore with 21 starts… Again committed just one error while involved in 116 chances at first base for a team-best .991 fielding percentage… Had her best outing of the season with a 3-for-4 doubleheader against St. Ambrose in which he had one double, one RBI and a sacrifice bunt (March 13).

In high school… 2014 graduate of Western High School in Davie, Florida… 4-year starter for the Wildcats who was an All-Broward County selection in all four of those seasons… Hit .359 as a senior after batting .414 with a .550 on-base percentage and .758 slugging percentage as a junior… Honor roll student at Western High School and member of the National Honor Society… Played travel ball with the West Pines Diamond Dusters where she was coached by Phil Schmalz… Personal… Daughter of Randy and Carol Furar… Has one younger sister (Emily).
