Biography

Returning 2-time all-conference catcher who has started 131 games in her first three seasons, including 111 behind the plate… One of Florida Southern’s five seniors, and has played in more games with more starts than any other Moccasin over the last three years… The first Florida Southern catcher to make the all-conference team in back-to-back seasons since April Elston made it four years in a row from 1998-2001… Has also played in the outfield (seven starts) and at third base (seven starts) in her career with six additional starts as the designated player.

AS A JUNIOR (2018)
HONORS: Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete… Along with shortstop Makayla Deuberry, was one of only two Moccasins to start all 48 games, with 45 of those coming behind the plate and the other three coming as the designated player… Two of her starts as the DP came in the doubleheader with Chestnut Hill where she went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI (March 5)… Started the next game against Hillsdale as the DP and went 2-for-3 with one RBI (March 7)… Hit seventh in the first 11 games before moving to the middle of the lineup in the final game of the Eckerd series, and hit cleanup for the final 28 games… Established career-highs in every offensive category and was one of four starters who hit at least .320 with a .370 on-base percentage (hit .321 with a .377 OBP)… Average climbed to .364 with runners in scoring position (20-for-55)… Hit .403 with a .457 OBP at home… Second on the team with 24 RBI, which was second in the SSC among catchers… Tied for second on the team with nine doubles and tied for second with 12 walks… Led Florida Southern with eight sacrifice bunts… Struck out only six times in 140 at-bats and 154 plate appearances, the second lowest ratio on the team behind Shannon Bell… Struck out only one time in the last 19 games covering 60 at-bats… Tied for fourth on the team with 10 multi-hit games, and equaled her career-high of three hits (done once in each of her first three seasons) by going 3-for-3 with a double in the first game of a doubleheader with Ursuline (March 13)… Put together a career-best 10-game hitting streak from March 10-24, which included conference series with Rollins, Embry-Riddle, and Barry, and hit .469 (15-for-32) during that stretch… That was part of a 27-game stretch that saw her reach base safely with either a hit or a walk in 26 of them… Had her third career 3-RBI game in 7-5, nine-inning loss to Tampa, with all three coming on a bases-clearing double with two out in the bottom of the sixth, tying the game at five after the Mocs had trailed 5-0 going into the inning (Feb. 17)… Gave the Mocs a 2-1 win over Hillsdale with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning (March 7)… Lost what would have been her second career home run when Flagler’s Megan Miller went over the fence to take one away in a 9-4 Florida Southern win (April 18)… Hit .290 in conference play (27-for-93)… Best SSC series came against Eckerd when she went 5-for-9 with one RBI, though she also had a 4-for-10 series against Barry with a walk, two doubles and three RBI, and a 4-for-9 series at Embry-Riddle with two RBI… Became the first Florida Southern catcher this century with five assists in one game when she accomplished that in the first game of the series against Tampa, a regulation-length game in which she threw two runners out attempting to steal, two more on strikeouts, and one on a throw to first on a ground ball.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2017)
HONORS: Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Dean’s List and President’s Scholar student… Started all but one game and entered in the bottom of the second inning in the only game she did not start… 38 starts came at catcher and the other two came as the designated player… Normally hit third or fourth in the lineup… Third on the team in RBI (19), doubles (7) and extra-base hits (8)… Tied for the team lead with six sacrifice bunts and three sac flies… Hit her only home run in 10-2 win over Florida Tech (April 8)… Had a team-leading .340 batting average (17-for-50) with a .407 on-base percentage in the month of March covering 17 games, and was the Moccasins’ leading hitter over the final two months with a .317 average (26-for-82)… Had nine multi-hit games and tied her career-high of three hits by going 3-for-4 with an RBI vs. SW Minnesota State (March 7)… Six of those multi-hit games came in the second half of the season… Had two different games with three RBI, the first time in a 10-2 win over Claflin (March 8), and the second in the 10-2 win over Florida Tech (April 8) where she hit a 3-run homer… One of only two players on the team to have two or more games with 3+ RBI along with Alex Mace… Had four perfect games at the plate, the most on the team… Best conference series came against Nova Southeastern where she went 5-for-10 (.500) with three RBI, picking up a hit and an RBI in all three games… Did not commit an error in the final 21 games.

AS A FRESHMAN (2016)
HONORS: Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Started 43 of a possible 49 games, with most of those coming behind the plate (28 at catcher, seven in right field, seven at third base and one as the designated player)… Spent most of the season hitting third or fifth in the lineup before hitting cleanup for the final four games of the season… Third on the team in hits (32), second in walks (13), third in RBI (11), third in doubles (5), third in on-base percentage (.329) and fourth in batting average (.258)… Also tied for the team lead with seven sacrifice bunts… Hit .310 (13-for-42) over the final month of the season, the team’s second best average in April behind only Erica Morrissey… Hit .326 (15-for-46) with runners in scoring position for the season, also second on the team to Morrissey… Had a hit and a walk in her first college game against defending South Region champion Shorter (Feb. 7)… Had two hits and two RBI in a 10-5 win over Colorado Christian to help the Mocs come back from a 4-1 deficit, picking up those hits in the two innings in which the Mocs scored eight runs (Feb. 12)… Best conference series came at Nova Southeastern where she hit .400 (4-for-10) with one walk and one RBI… Also went 3-for-8 with two walks and two RBI in the Barry series… Had eight multi-hit games with a season-high of three hits coming in the first game of the Florida Tech series (April 1)… Had 14 games where she reached safely two or more times with a hit or a walk… Had two doubles in one game against Valdosta State (March 15)… Longest hitting streak of the season was five games from Feb. 19-27, spanning two conference series against Lynn and Rollins… That was part of a stretch that saw her reach safely with a hit or a walk in 15 out of 16 games… Committed only two errors in 157 chances as a catcher (.987 percentage).

In high school… 2015 graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School… 4-year starter for head coach Mark Watt who produced a school-record 128 RBI in her high school career, and set additional school records for career walks, on-base percentage and slugging percentage… Class A All-State as a senior after hitting .436 with a .552 OBP and .743 slugging percentage… Also a member of the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Team… All-State as a junior with a .570 average, a .604 OBP, .935 slugging percentage, 10 doubles, eight home runs and 57 RBI… Set Lincoln Southwest records that year for all three percentage categories and RBI, and also had a perfect season in the field… In addition to making the All-State Team twice in her career, made all-conference and all-city twice as well… 2-time Academic All-State and 3-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete… 4-time LPS Scholar-Athlete Award winner and 3-time academic all-conference… Played with the Nebraska Fury Gold for six years and was coached by Mike Heard…Also played one year for the Nebraska Gold (coached by Dick Jablonski), and one year for the Nebraska Quakes Gold (coached by Mike Butera)… Helped her travel ball team to top-20 national finishes in the Gold Division in 2013 and 2014… Personal… Daughter of Todd and Kristi Flodman… Has one older brother (Zach) who graduated two years ago as a 4-year letterman on the golf team at Doane University in Nebraska.
