AS A SENIOR (2019-20)
Was honored alongside fellow seniors Talor Hamilton and Daniel Rodriguez prior to the Mocs home meet against No.6 Nova Southeastern.

AS A JUNIOR (2018-19)…

AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-18)… Posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 500-freestyle for the second year in a row and added another in the 1,000-free… Participated in 11 meets, including the SSC Championships… Regular swimmer in the 500, 1000, and 1650, as well as the 200-fly… Also swam the 200-freestyle twice… Finished #3 on the Florida Southern times list in the 1,000-free, the 1,650-free, and the 200-fly, and was #4 in the 500-free… Had one additional top-10 in the 200-free.

200-free: 1:44.59 (at Spartan Invitational, 12/17/17)
500-free: 4:33.18 (at SSC Championships, 2/24/18)

AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17)… Competed in every regular season meet and the SSC Championships… Regular swimmer in the distance events and 200-butterfly… Also swam the 100-butterfly and 200-freestyle in one meet and regularly as part of the freestyle relay teams… Had an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 500-freestyle at the SSC Championships… Ranked #3 on the Florida Southern times list in the 500-free and 1000-free, and was #2 in the 1,650 and 200-butterfly.

In high school… 2016 graduate of Tenoroc High School in Lakeland… 4-year letterman for head coach Tonya Williams… 4-time Class 2A state qualifier in the 500-freestyle and 3-time qualifier in the 200… Placed in the top-10 at the state meet in the 500 as a sophomore, junior and senior… Won regional titles in the 500 as a sophomore and senior… Competed for Lakeland Area Swimming from 2013-16 where his coach was former Florida Southern assistant Megan Garland… Personal… Son of Andrea and Jonathan Sawyer Sr.… Has one younger sister (Mariah), who is also a member of Florida Southern swimming team… Mother also attended Florida Southern College… Mentions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his favorite pro sports teams.
