Dr. Shameka Shelby, PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan, currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence at Florida Southern College. Throughout her career, she has taken great pride in cultivating long-term mentoring relationships, guiding students into graduate programs, medical and dental schools, PA and veterinary programs, and careers in fields ranging from flavor chemistry to biomedical research. For Shameka, the most meaningful measure of success is witnessing her mentees give back to their communities, whether through teaching, mentoring, or service. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and son, having explored 35 countries together.
