Hyrum Keime

Hyrum Keime was named as the first head coach in the history of Florida Southern's beach volleyball program following the announcement of the addition of beach volleyball in 2017. In two seasons Keime’s teams have compiled a 19-34 record. During his second season as head coach the Mocs doubled their win total from the inaugural season and finished sixth in the AVCA Small College Championship.

He is currently in his seventh season as an assistant coach for the Florida Southern indoor volleyball program. In his first four seasons, Keime was part of a coaching staff that helped lead the Mocs to four-straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, including a national runner-up showing in 2017 and regional runner-up finishes in 2015 and 2016.

During his time with the Moccasins, the team has compiled a record of 94-40, including an impressive 44-20 mark in Sunshine State Conference play.

In his first four seasons, Keime was part of a coaching staff that helped lead the Mocs to four-straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, including a regional runner-up showing in 2015 and 2016. While on the FSC staff, Keime has helped coach seven AVCA all-Americans, nine AVCA all-South Region players, and 12 all-Sunshine State Conference performers.

The Mocs have also notched 11 victories over top-25 opponents in the last four seasons, including a pair of top-five opponents in No. 5 Central Missouri (2014) and No. 2 Tampa (2015).

PRIOR TO FLORIDA SOUTHERN:

Keime came to Florida Southern after spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Nova Southeastern. In 2007, he served as a volunteer assistant coach at Redland Christian Academy in his hometown of Homestead, Fla. Prior to that, Keime was the head junior varsity coach and varsity assistant at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah.

Before entering the coaching ranks, Keime played club volleyball at Utah Valley University, where he was named as the 2010 Mountain Valley Conference MVP and was a second-team all-American at the 2012 National Club Volleyball Federation (NCVF) Championships.

As a high-school athlete, Keime played for the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics beach volleyball squad in 2000, placing fifth at the national tournament.

Along with his coaching and athletic achievements, Keime has also served his country as a member of the United States Army. After graduating from the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program in 2010, Keime served as an officer in Afghanistan from 2012-13 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 2010.
