Biography

As a sophomore (2013-14)… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Earned a redshirt year after not competing in any meets.

As a freshman (2012-13)… Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference… Competed in eight regular season meets plus the SSC Championships… Won the 100-backstroke vs. Daytona State (Jan.26) for her first collegiate victory… Finished second to teammate Stephanie Doran in both the 100- and 200-backstroke in her first collegiate meet at Tampa (Oct. 19), and also had a runner-up finish in that same meet in the 200-freestyle relay… Later had a runner-up finish to teammate Lauren Reynolds in the 100 backstroke at Rollins (Nov. 17), and the 200-backstroke vs. Bridgeport (Jan. 5) before finishing less than half a second ahead of Reynolds in the 100-backstroke against Daytona State (Jan. 26)… Third in the 100-backstroke at the SSC Championships behind only Reynolds and Doran, and was third in the 200… Third on Florida Southern’s top times list in both backstroke events.

In high school… 2012 graduate of Newberry High School in Newberry, South Carolina… 6-year member of the varsity swimming team… Qualified for state six times (placed in top-10 four times and top-5 in two years)… Earned all-region honors five times… 3-time Region 3-2A Swimmer-of-the-Year… 2-time All-State honoree… Was named State 2A Swimmer-of-the-Year in 2009-10 by the South Carolina Coaches Association of Women's Sports… Earned team MVP honors three times (2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12) and was a 3-year team captain… Swam for Newberry YMCA and USA Swim Team for 10 years… Participated in the 'Y' Nationals Long Course and Short Course for 4 years, including finishing in top-20 twice in the backstroke… Ranked eighth nationally by National YMCA for 2011-12 in 18-year old age group for the 200-backstroke… Received only South Carolina Swimming scholarship that was given in 2012… Personal… Daughter of Karen Summer and George Summer, Jr. … Has one brother, George III… Born January 6, 1994… Major: Physical Education.
