Kris Doorey was named the Director of Athletics Development/Assistant Athletic Director at Florida Southern College in August of 2021.

Since starting at Florida Southern, Doorey has overseen a significant increase in donors and donations to athletics.  Doorey has been involved with all aspects of the capital campaigns for the Adams Athletic Performance Center ($8.2 million) and the Lone Palm Golf Facility ($1.7 million).

Prior to arriving at Florida Southern, Doorey was a college baseball coach for 27 years.  Doorey served as the head coach at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh from 2002 until 2023 and the head coach at MacMurray College from 1999-2001.  Doorey was also an assistant coach at MacMurray in 1998 and at the University of Stony Brook from 1995-97.

Doorey was a three-time SUNYAC Coach of the Year (2003, 2009, 2012) and is the winningest coach in Plattsburgh history (307).  Doorey produced over 40 All-SUNYAC players, over 20 All-Region selections, one national Gold Glove winner and two All-Americans.

PERSONAL button 2025
A 1996 graduate of Stony Brook University and 1993 graduate of Clinton Community College, Doorey also holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University-Irvine (CA).  He and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of Brady, a member of the Florida Southern College baseball team, and Ava.
