Mike Persohn joined the Florida Southern College athletic training staff with nearly 30 years of experience in sports medicine, athletic training, and rehabilitation across the collegiate, high school, hospital, and industrial settings. His addition to the Mocs in August 2026 is in association of a partnership between Florida Southern and Lakeland Regional Health in a committment to the healtha and safety of Moccasin student-athletes.Â
Most recently, Persohn served as a Health and Wellness Specialist with Athletic Training Solutions, managing injury care, rehabilitation, and workplace wellness programs. He also worked with Aultman Health Foundation, providing athletic training services for Malone University women's sports and GlenOak High School.
Prior to those roles, Persohn spent more than a decade with East Liverpool City Hospital, where he helped establish and manage the hospital's sports medicine program and expanded athletic training outreach to local high schools. He also spent 17 years with the Ohio Sports and Spine Institute, providing physical therapy and athletic training services.
Persohn earned his degree in Sports Medicine from Ohio Northern University and is a certified athletic trainer with multiple emergency care certifications.
