Greenwood, Durham Power Mocs Past Nova Southeastern

Led by double-doubles from Anna Greenwood and Danielle Durham, the sixth-ranked Moccasins topped Nova Southeastern 23-25, 25-22, 28-26, 25-18 in their Sunshine State Conference match at Ft. Lauderdale Friday night.

The win boosts FSC's record to 13-4, 3-1 SSC, while Nova slips to 12-5, 2-2 SSC.

Greenwood and Durham each had 16 kills and 11 digs in the match. For Greenwood, it was her first career double-double and for Durham, it was her ninth of the season and the 44th of her career. Durham was back in the Moccasins' lineup after missing Tuesday night's match at Eckerd with an ankle injury.

The Mocs had plenty of offensive help to go with the efforts of Greenwood and Durham as Danielle Higginbotham had 13 kills, while Maggie Drumm added 11 and hit .611 for the match. Courtney Johnson tallied a career-high 22 digs, while Elise Burke contributed 12 and had 54 assists for the Mocs.

The third set was the key to the match. After the two teams had split the first two sets, NSU had a 24-22 lead in set three, but the Moccasins rallied to win the set 28-26, with kills by Greenwood providing three of FSC's final six points.

The Moccasins play another SSC match Saturday at 4 p.m. in Boca Raton against Lynn.
