DAVIE - A scoreless stretch of just over four minutes in the second half proved costly for the Moccasins, as they fell to Nova Southeastern 67-62 here Wednesday night.
The Moccasins were leading 44-40 with 10:01 remaining, when the Sharks went on an 11-0 run to go up 51-44 with 5:51 left. The Mocs were able to get as close as one point, 52-51, with 3:09 left, but could get no closer.
The loss was FSC's second straight and dropped the Moccasins' record to 13-5, 4-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. Nova Southeastern, the preseason SSC favorite, is 8-10, 4-4 in the SSC.
Chelsea Johnson led the Moccasins with 26 points. Stephanie Sarosi led Nova with 21.
The Moccasins take on first-place Rollins Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Jenkins Field House.
