Box Score Julia Borecka and Anne Pietkiewicz combined for 39 kills and led the Moccasins to a 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 24-26, 15-11 Sunshine State Conference win over Rollins Wednesday night at Jenkins Field House.
The win, FSC's third straight, boosted its season record back over the .500 mark at 13-12 and raised its SSC record to 4-5. Rollins fell to 14-12 overall, 2-7 in the SSC.
Borecka recorded a match-high 20 kills, while Pietkiewicz produced season highs with 19 kills and 23 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. Anna Greenwood picked up her second double-double with a 15-kill, 10-dig effort, while Anna Niebuhr delivered a career-high 30 digs and Elise Burke handed out 66 assists.
Nikki Hartman, the SSC leader in kills, had 18 to go with 31 digs to pace Rollins.
After the Moccasins had claimed the first two sets, Rollins broke a 10-10 tie in the third set with two straight points and led the rest of the set. In set four, the Moccasins had leads of 19-14 and 24-21, but Rollins prevailed to force the fifth and deciding set. With the fifth set tied at 6-6, Greenwood's kill put the Moccasins ahead to stay and Niebuhr's ace closed out the match.
The Moccasins play the first of four straight SSC road matches when they travel to Florida Tech Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest.
