WEST PALM BEACH - With four players scoring in double figures the Moccasins won their seventh straight game here Saturday, downing Palm Beach Atlantic 79-56.
The win gives the Moccasins (7-1) their longest winning streak since the 2002-03 season.
Chelsea Johnson led FSC with 19 points, while Nicolle DiRaimo scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Megan Dzikas tossed in 15 points and Michaela Hawley added 10 points.
Trailing 15-14 with 11:14 left in the first half, the Moccasins went on a 22-4 run in the next 5:30 to build a 36-19 advantage and Palm Beach Atlantic (4-6) never got closer than seven points the rest of the game. The Mocs led 38-31 at halftime and the Sailfish had the margin at 44-37 with 15:14 remaining, but DiRaimo's basket at the 13:45 mark put the Moccasin lead back to double digits, where it stayed the remainder of the game.
The Moccasins hit nine three-pointers in the game, three each by Johnson and Dzikas, outscored the Sailfish 18-9 at the free throw line and out-rebounded them 46-37.
The next outing for the Mocs will be Dec. 19 in the FSC/Holiday Inn South Classic at Jenkins Field House at 2 p.m., when they take on College of Saint Rose. North Georgia and Saint Leo will play the opening game of the classic at noon.
