MELBOURNE - After registering their biggest win of the season last Saturday by knocking off 11th-ranked Rollins, the Moccasins suffered their worst loss of the season here Wednesday night, falling to Florida Tech 81-63.
The Moccasins struggled with their shooting the entire game, shooting 38 percent from the field. Leading the Sunshine State Conference in three-point field goals made, the Moccasins made just four of 18 against the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Florida Tech (16-5, 5-5 SSC) shot 53 percent from the field and led 38-25 at halftime. FSC never got closer than 12 points in the second half.
Coming off her 37-point performance of Saturday night, Chelsea Johnson led FSC with 19 points and Alli Fogle added 10, but no one else was able reach double figures for the Moccasins.
Tamara Dowdell led the Panthers with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
The Moccasins (14-6, 5-5 SSC) play Barry Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Jenkins Field House.
