Box Score Metro State handed the Moccasins their first loss of the 2009 season, posting a 25-14, 25-18, 17-25, 25-20 victory at the St. Mary's Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, Saturday.
Elena Sorich led the 16th-ranked Moccasins with nine kills, while Lauren Huber had eight and Julia Borecka and Erin Callahan each had seven. Courtney Johnson recorded 15 digs and Kendall Wilde delivered 34 assists.
After Metro State claimed the first two sets, the Moccasins won set three and had an early 4-1 lead in set four. Metro State then went on a 7-0 run, but FSC came back to tie it at 10-10, 15-15, 16-16 and 17-17 before the Roadrunners pulled away for the 25-20 decision.
The Moccasins play their final match in the St. Mary's Invitational at 4:45 p.m. (CT) against Millersville (Pa.).
