Box Score A come-from-behind win over North Alabama got the Moccasins off to a good start Friday in the South Region Crossover at Pensacola.
Down two sets to one, the 11th-ranked Moccasins won the fourth set, then claimed the deciding fifth set for an 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9 victory that improves their record to 7-2. North Alabama falls to 2-7.
Julia Borecka recorded 18 kills and hit .417 for the match. She also had nine digs and four blocks. Her kill broke a 12-12 tie in the fourth set and the Moccasins led the rest of set.
Anne Pietkiewicz posted her third double-double of the season with a 12-kill, 12-dig performance. She put FSC ahead to stay in the fifth set with a kill that broke a 3-3 tie.
Kelly Sherman added 11 kills and Lauren Huber collected 10 for the Moccasins, while Courtney Johnson produced a team-high 14 digs and Elise Burke delivered 47 assists.
The Moccasins play West Alabama at 5:30 p.m. (ET), then take on #19 West Florida tomorrow at 4 p.m. (ET).
