Despite an outdoor temperature that barely got above 50 degrees, the Moccasins had no problems in the heated Hollis Wellness Center Pool Monday, cruising to a 112-45 win over Berry College (Ga.).
Returning to competition for the first time in a month, the Moccasins won all but two events in the meet. Bruce Janzen claimed the meet's only record, swimming the 500-yard freestyle in 4:53.69 to top the previous record of 4:54.21. He also won the 100-yard butterfly (55.80) and swam leadoff on the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:43.12). Kelly Dorian had a pair of wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.55) and 100-yard backstroke (1:00.58).Â
The Moccasins will swim in the Rollins Winter Invitational Wednesday at Daytona Beach, then take on Pfeiffer at the Hollis Wellness Center Pool Thursday at 10 a.m.
