Box Score Led by 12 kills from Lauren Huber, the Moccasins posted their sixth straight win Thursday night, 25-18, 25-18, 28-26, over North Alabama in the opening match of the South Region Crossover at Jenkins Field House.
Improving their record to 15-4, the Moccasins avenged a five-set loss to North Alabama back on Sept. 10 at the Armstrong Atlantic Classic. North Alabama dropped to 12-6.
Huber was the only Moccasin in double figures in kills and hit .429 for the match. Diana Castrillon picked up seven kills. Erin Callahan and Natalie Arvizu each added six. Sarah Roberts and Hristina Markova produced 11 kills each for North Alabama.
After winning the first two sets, the Moccasins led 14-5 in the third set before the Lions rallied to tie it at 23-23. The teams alternated scoring the next three points before a North Alabama attack error put FSC ahead 27-26 and Huber's service ace closed out the match.
The Moccasins play West Alabama at 7 p.m. Thursday in the final match of the day. Lynn and North Alabama start the day at 10 a.m. Lynn plays West Florida at 2:30 p.m. and Tampa plays North Alabama at 5 p.m.
