Winning eight of 14 events and taking the top three places in six of those, Tampa won the season's first dual meet of the season over the Moccasins, 139-108, Saturday at Tampa.
The Moccasins had individual event wins from Cara Potter in the 100-yard freestyle (55.11), Taylor Reynolds in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.95), Rae-Lynn Sheffield in the 400-yard individual medley (4:54.13) and Kaitlyn Smith in the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.58). For Smith, it marked a successful return to competition after missing all of last season with an injury. The Moccasins also won the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Reynolds, Sheffield, Potter and Anna McIntyre posting a time of 1:52.42 and the 400-yard freestyle relay with the team of Potter, McIntyre, Kelly Ruf and Lisa Menne turning in a time of 3:43.44.
