Gabrielle Goodwin, Emma Sammons, Elizabeth Sikes, and Kaitlyn Weitz earn Academic honors

LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Swimming Teams have been released to include four from the Florida Southern College women's swimming team.

Gabrielle Goodwin, Emma Sammons, Elizabeth Sikes, and Kaitlyn Weitz have all been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Swimming Teams. This honor, awarded for the 2025-26 academic year, highlights the outstanding balance these student-athletes have achieved between their academic pursuits and their commitments in the pool.

The Academic All-District recognition is a prestigious accolade that underscores the significant academic achievements of student-athletes who not only excel in their sport but also maintain a strong academic record. To qualify for this award, honorees must be at least sophomores in their academic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, these students are vital contributors to their respective teams, participating in the majority of their contests.

Each of these four honorees from the Florida Southern College women's swimming team has demonstrated remarkable dedication and discipline.

Goodwin earned her first CSC award as a Moccasin, transferring from Florida State this past season. Goodwin had several top finishes as a distance, IM, and Fly swimmer for FSC. She placed top 3 in several meets for the 400 IM and 500 free, and added a top-15 time in the 500 free at the SSC Championships in February. Her top time in the 500 free was a 4:59.04 time for third place at the NSU Shark Invite in December 2025.

Sammons added to her academic accolades throughout her FSC career with the Academic All-District nod. She previously earned the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll three years in a row and is a two-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award winner. The distance swimmer had top 15 times in the 1000 free and 1650 free at the SSC Championships this year and several top-five times in dual meets throughout the season. Her 1000 free at the SSC Championships was a new personal best, finishing in a time of 10:36.29.

Sikes earned the third-straight CSC All-District award of her career, adding to her three-time SSC Honor Roll, two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, and two-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award list. Sikes is a three-time All-American with appearances in relays and individual swimmer for the 100 and 200 fly events. In the 2026 NCAA Championships, she placed 21st in the 200 fly prelims and 33rd in the 100 fly prelims.

Weitz earned the first CSC award of her career as a previous winner of the SSC Honor Roll. Weitz is in her second season with the Mocs and had a successful season with top 10 finishes in the 100 free and 100 back throughout the year's dual meets. In the SSC Championships, Weitz was 16th in the 100 back. She also competed in the 200 back, and 50 free with successful swims.
