A big first half enabled the Moccasins to cruise to an 81-56 win over Puerto Rico-Bayamon Saturday at the Eckerd Classic in St. Petersburg.
The Moccasins scored the first 12 points of the game, then closed out the first half with a 16-2 run to build a 48-25 halftime lead. FSC's second-half margin was never under double digits, with the largest lead coming at 79-44 with 4:56 left in the game.
All 14 players in uniform played at least eight minutes in the game with five scoring in double figures. Emma Cannon led the offense with 16 points. Sofie Lundberg and Taylor Maldonado each scored 13 points off the bench. Chelsea Johnson and Michaela Hawley each added 11 points.
The win raised the Moccasins' record to 4-1. It was their second win over UPR-Bayamon this week. Tuesday night the Moccasins won 78-56 at Jenkins Field House.
The Moccasins will take an 11-day break from competition before their next game Dec. 9 at Palm Beach Atlantic.
