Box Score
A dominating second half brought the Moccasins back from a nine-point deficit to an 81-65 road win at Palm Beach Atlantic Thursday night.
Leading by seven at halftime, Palm Beach Atlantic scored the first basket of the second half to go up by nine, but the Moccasins took over from there. In the next 14 minutes, FSC outscored the Swordfish 36-12 and went on to post its fifth win in six outings this season.
PBA shot 56.3% from the field and 60% from three-point range in the first half. It was a different story in the second half, though, as the Moccasins limited the Swordfish to 25% from the field and 16.7% from three-point range and took advantage of 12 PBA turnovers.
Michaela Hawley led the Moccasins with a season-high 21 points. She was 8-12 from the field, 4-5 from the free throw line and threw in a three-pointer as well. It was Hawley's three-point play with 11:51 left that broke a 51-51 tie and put FSC in front to stay.
Megan Dzikas had 20 points, including three three-pointers, and matched her career-high in assists with nine. Emma Cannon notched her third double-double of the season with a 13-point, 10-rebound effort, while Taylor Maldonado tossed in 13 points off the bench.
The Moccasins take on Flagler in a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. in Jenkins Field House in their last game before final exam week.
