Box Score Playing perhaps their best match of the season so far, the Moccasins improved their record to 9-1 Saturday with a four-set Sunshine State Conference win over Lynn, 25-11, 25-17, 16-25, 25-19, victory at Jenkins Field House.
The win boosts the Moccasins' SSC record to 2-0, while Lynn falls to 7-3, 1-1 in the SSC.
The Moccasins never trailed in winning the first two sets. After Lynn took the third set, the Moccasins moved in front in set four at 7-6 when Natalie Arvizu and Lauren Huber blocked a Lynn attack attempt. FSC hit over .300 in each of the three sets it won and hit .296 for the match. Lynn hit .205 for the match.
Ashley Martin led FSC with 14 kills. Elena Sorich added 12 kills, while hitting .417 for the match. Kelly Sherman picked up seven kills and hit .636 for the match and Anna Niebuhr had a team-high 17 digs.
Katie Bradley and Haley Pratt each had 10 kills to lead the Fighting Knights.
The Moccasins play their next three matches on the road starting Wednesday night at 7 at No. 1-ranked Tampa.
