The Moccasins continue to make it look easy. For the fourth straight game, they never trailed and they posted their sixth straight win, 84-61, over Lynn Saturday night at Jenkins Field House.
With the win the Moccasins pull into a first-place tie with Tampa in the Sunshine State Conference at 5-0, go 5-0 in the SSC for the first time ever under coach Jarrod Olson and improve their overall record to 12-2. Lynn falls to 7-8, 1-4 in the SSC.
The Moccasins scored the game's first 13 points and Lynn never got closer than nine points the rest of the game. The lead was 46-22 at halftime and it grew to as many as 33 with 4:29 left in the game.
Freshman Taylor Maldonado, for the eighth time this season, came off the bench to score in double figures and led the Moccasins with 16 points. Emma Cannon notched her seventh double-double of the season with an 11-point, 16-rebound effort. Megan Dzikas tossed in 15 points, Michaela Hawley added 12 and Chelsea Johnson had 11. Amanda Schultz led Lynn with 21 points. The Knights' leading scorer, Chelsea Patterson, who was averaging 16.1 points, was held scoreless. Â
In a  battle for first-place, the Moccasins and Tampa will square off Wednesday night at 5:30 at Tampa.
