Mocs' Late Surge Pushes Win Streak To Seven

SAINT LEO - Brandon and Terry Jenkins sparked a 22-11 run in the final 6:25 of the game to give the Moccasins an 84-74 Sunshine State Conference win at Saint Leo Wednesday night. The win was FSC's seventh straight and improved their record to 10-3 overall, 2-0 in the SSC. Saint Leo dropped to 9-3, 1-2 in the SSC.

Terry Jenkins put the Moccasins ahead to stay, 64-63, with his basket at the 6:25 mark that brought them back from a seven-point deficit, 58-51, with 11:16 remaining. He followed his go-ahead basket with a three-pointer. Brandon Jenkins then tallied eight of the Moccasins' final 14 points, including a pair of three-pointers, to finish the night with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Terry Jenkins finished with 10 points and Rion Rayfield added 14, including a perfect seven of seven from the free throw line.

After the game was tied, 37-37, at halftime, Saint Leo kept the game close thanks to a strong effort off the bench from 6-11 sophomore Matt Kendrick, who scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half. Jamal Thompson and Quentin Cullop combined for 42 points, including nine three-pointers between them.  

The Moccasins, who came into the game shooting 76.6 percent from the free throw line, improved that percentage, as they hit 24-28 for the game, including their final six without a miss.

Saturday the Moccasins play at Barry at 4 p.m.
