Box Score Playing at home for the first time in over two weeks, the Moccasins got 16 kills from Diana Castrillon and a double-double from Kate Stromberg to top Nova Southeastern in four sets, 23-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-20, Saturday in their Sunshine State Conference match at Jenkins Field House.
With the win the Moccasins improved to 9-5 overall, 4-2 in the SSC. Nova Southeastern fell to 3-12, 1-4 in the SSC.
Castrillon was one of three Moccasins to record double figure kills. She hit .342 for the match and also had four blocks. Freshman Kate Stromberg picked up her first career double-double with a 12 kill, 19 dig effort, while adding four blocks. Lauren Huber had 10 kills and four blocks and Gabby Fernandez came off the bench to collect nine kills.
Danielle Graham led the Sharks with a 10-kill, 12-dig double-double.
The Moccasins play Eckerd Friday at 7 p.m. and Saint Leo Saturday at 4 p.m. at Jenkins Field House.
