Box Score Led by strong performances from Lauren Huber, Kate Stromberg and Gabby Fernandez, the Moccasins won their final contest at the South Region Crossover in Pensacola Friday, downing Alabama-Huntsville, 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 25-18.
Huber led the team with 17 kills and hit .400 for the match, while Stromberg posted her fourth double-double of the season with a 14-kill, 10-dig performance. She hit .343 and added a season-high four blocks. Fernandez collected her season-high with 14 kills and hit .323 and Ali Skayhan handed out a career-high 57 assists.
On the defensive side, Anna Niebuhr's 17 digs led a group of four players who had double figure digs.
The Moccasins improved to 11-9 with the win, while UAH fell to 7-14.
Huber was named to the All-Tournament team named after all of the matches concluded on Saturday.
Wednesday the Moccasins return to Sunshine State Conference action with a re-match at Rollins at 7 p.m. The Mocs beat the Tars in five sets in their first meeting Sept. 24 at FSC.
