A career night for sophomore Morgan Lamberg led the Moccasins to a 76-54 decision over Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday night at West Palm Beach.
Lamberg scored 21 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, both career highs, as the Moccasins improved to 3-0. She did most of her damage in the second half, scoring 11 points with 11 rebounds.
Michaela Hawley shared game scoring honors with Lamberg, as she also had 21 points, with most of her output coming in a 16-point first half.
Palm Beach Atlantic scored the game’s first basket. Hawley’s basket tied it at 2-2, a Megan Dzikas tip-in put FSC ahead with 15:55 left in the half and the Moccasins led the rest of the game. Their lead was 40-27 at halftime and the margin never went below double digits in the second half.
Dzikas added 11 points for the Moccasins and Taylor Maldonado tossed in 10 points and delivered five assists. Jordon Kong led PBA with 15 points.
The Moccasins play in the Eckerd Classic Friday and Saturday at St. Petersburg. Friday they'll play Queens (N.C.) and Saturday they'll meet Puerto Rico-Bayamon. Game time is 1 p.m. both days.
