Rollins Ends Mocsâ?? Six-Game Winning Streak

In a battle of nationally-ranked teams, the Moccasins saw their six-game winning streak end, as Rollins scored the first six points of the game and never trailed en route to a 74-59 win Saturday at Winter Park.

The #18-ranked Tars won their seventh straight and improved to 7-1, 2-0 in the SSC.  The 22nd-ranked Moccasins suffered their first loss in seven games.
 
Rollins had a 40-28 advantage at halftime and the Moccasins were never able to get the deficit to single digits in the second half.
 
The Moccasins struggled with their shooting, finishing with season-low field goal percentage of 35.7.  They hit just two of 19 three-pointers.  Rollins shot 43.3 percent from the field and connected on eight of 21 from three-point range.
 
Michaela Hawley led FSC with 22 points and moved into ninth place on the FSC career scoring list with 1,338.  She also had five rebounds to raise her career total to 564, good for 16th place on the FSC career rebounding list.  Danielle Walsh played the entire 40 minutes and scored a career-high 16 points.  Tracy Fosterling added 13 points and had a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Ashley Jones led Rollins with 15 points.
 
The Moccasins play their first home game of the season Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Florida Tech at Jenkins Field House.
