Box Score The Moccasins put together two solid halves of basketball and routed Tampa 97-71 Wednesday night at the Bob Martinez Center in Tampa.
All 12 Moccasin players in uniform got into the game and all but one scored, as FSC won for the 10th straight time against the Spartans.
Brett Bailey tallied a career-high 24 points for the Moccasins. Kyle Tazioli came off the bench and poured in a career-high 17, while Dominic Lane tossed in 15 and Seth Evans added 13. Tazioli, Lane and Evans each sank three three-pointers in the victory.
Tampa actually scored the first six points of the game, but that was about the only bright spot for the Spartans, who fell to 4-12 overall, 0-7 in the Sunshine State Conference, and dropped their fifth straight game.
The Moccasins (10-5, 4-3 SSC) led 48-35 at halftime and never saw the lead fall below double digits in the second half.
Freshman Tyler Burton got into the game in the final minutes and scored his first collegiate basket for the Moccasins.
FSC shot 50 percent from the field, connected on a season-high 10 of 22 from three-point range and sank 15 of 18 free throws. Tampa shot just 28.6 percent from the field and made only two of 17 three-pointers, but did connect on 33 of 41 free throws. Each team had 43 rebounds.
The Moccasins are back in Jenkins Field House for a 7:30 p.m. SSC game Saturday against Lynn.
