Box Score MIAMI SHORES – Nico Gercke scored four times for the Buccaneers as they beat Florida Southern 5-0 in the season finale.
The first 45 minutes of the game were played evenly by both sides, although Barry (6-7-1, 2-5 SSC) went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. The lone goal of the half came off the head of Gercke in the 23rd minute off a corner kick, but Florida Southern (4-8-3, 0-6-2 SSC) had the better chances.
In the 10th minute, sophomore Jonathan Radvogin (Vasteras, Sweden) came up the left side on a counter attack and took a shot that missed wide of the frame. He came back again four minutes later and had a shot from 25-yards out that was saved. The Moccasins continued their attack in the 21st minute when the ball came out of the box to the foot of senior captain Mitchell Francois (Frisco, Texas) who blasted a shot toward the upper right corner, but a diving stop by Jimmy McGregor kept him off the board.
In the second half, Gercke would add three more goals in the 66th, 69th, and 83rd minutes, along with one from Esteban Ochoa in the 77th minute.
