Box Score

MIAMI SHORES – Barry scored twice in the final seven minutes of the game to post a 2-0 Sunshine State Conference win over Florida Southern at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.

The Buccaneers, ranked 20th in the NSCAA national poll, broke a scoreless tie in the 83rd minutes with Thomas Coombes sent a long ball into the middle outside the box which Manuel Perez collected and then fired a shot past Moccasin goalkeeper Cole Clingerman for the score. It was Perez's fifth goal of the season.

Barry (4-0-2, 1-0-1 SSC) then added a second goal just under three minutes later when Frank Lustig sent a ball to the right side of the box that Patrick Drmola crossed into the middle. Coombes gathered the pass, took a short dribble, and then hit the back of the net for the final 2-0 score.

Clingerman finished with a season-high nine saves for the Moccasins, while Bo Haug made one save for Barry to post the shutout. Edward Spansk led the Mocs with three shots in the game, and forced Haug into his only save of the match following a corner kick in the 35th minute.

The Moccasins (2-7, 1-3 SSC) hit the road on Wednesday, Oct. 7, to play at Rollins at 7 pm.
