DAVIE, FLA. – The Florida Southern women's swimming team participated in Day One of the Shark Invitational on Friday night, hosted by Nova Southeastern University. Through the first nine events, the Mocs are in fifth place in a six team field. Day Two will take place on Saturday.
The host Sharks are currently in first place with 583 team points. Keiser is in second place with 297 total team points, followed by Florida Tech (284), Lynn (240), Florida Southern (151), and Savannah College of Art and Design (150)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Sandra Miclaus was the top finisher for the Mocs, capturing third place in the 200-butterfly, with a time of 2:09.76, just .41 seconds from second place.
- Classmate Emily Drabick captured sixth place in the 200-individual medley, finishing in 2:15.62.
- Senior Kyra Fraser performed well in the 200-back, racing to a time of 2:14.15, good enough for seventh place.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Nine women's events were held on Day One, with the remaining eight taking place on Day Two.
