SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Southern women's swim team lose a close match against #22 Saint Leo Saturday afternoon.
The Mocs lost to the Lions with a 146-116 team score. The women's team have faced two ranked opponents in a row, after a loss to #12 Tampa last night. The Florida Southern women's team was #19 in the CSCAA Preseason Poll.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maja Eriksson led off with a first place win in the 50 yard freestyle, as Rachel Cunningham finished second
- For the 100 yard freestyle, Jazzy Hoffmann finished second with Eriksson in third
- Building off a great meet yesterday, Olivia Miles finished first in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle
- Morgan Misenar finished third in the 500 yard freestyle and Morgan Champagne earned third in the 1000 yard freestyle
- Teagan Michalek finished third in the 50 yard backstroke, and second in the 100 yard backstroke
- Alizee Pelletier had third place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke
- For the 50 yard butterfly, Michalek finished second, with Allie Brinton in second for the 100 yard butterfly
- Miles followed up with a second place finish in the 200 yard IM, with Emily Peck in third
- For relays, the Mocs had team finish second and third in the 400 yard freestyle, and a third place team for the 200 yard medley
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Miles led the team with two event wins, continuing her run of the events from the last meet
- Eriksson added an event win to have two different Mocs represent the top performance of an event during the meet
- Marks the second meet in a row facing a ranked team, with #13 West Florida on deck next week

The women's team will travel to Tallahassee to face #13 West Florida, North Florida, and Florida State in a weekend multi-team meet.
