MILTON, Ga. - The Florida Southern men's golf team closed out their fall season with a tie for 14th place in a deep field at the Southern Tide Invitational hosted by Limestone at the Atlanta National Golf Club course in Milton, Georgia.
The Mocs were led by redshirt sophomore
Adam Alvarez and freshman
Clay Tucker. Alvarez was the top individual finisher for the men in a six-way tie for 30th place with a total combined score 223 (+7) as two of his three rounds were under par. The performance marks the first time Alvarez was the top finisher for the Moccasins. He will play a vital role in the fast-approaching spring-championship season.
Clay Tucker was right on the heels of Alvarez with a score of 224 (+8) as he finished in a tie for 36th.
After struggling in the past few tournaments, senior
Johnny Tucker found himself in the third position for the Moccasins, closer to his normal position on the team, as he shot a total combined score 234.
Senior,
Sam Rogers rounded out the scoring with a score of 235. Closing out Southern was
Noah Kumar who shot a final of 83 to finish tied for 80th.Â
