TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team had a tri-team meet Saturday afternoon in preparation for next week's first home meet of the season.
The Mocs faced strong swimming opponents with Florida State University, University of West Florida, and University of North Florida participating. The women were unable to beat the teams based on team scores, but had a great showing by several Mocs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivia Miles had another week with the same first place win in the 1000 yard free in a great podium finish by the freshman
- Allie Brinton had a third place podium finish in the 200 yard butterfly
- Erin McCann finished fifth in the 200 yard freestyle
- Jazzy Hoffmann tied for fifth in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.56
- Miles had a great showing for fifth in the 500 yard freestyle, and was just outside a podium finish in the 400 IM
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Miles time of 10:26.77 in the 1000 yard freestyle is the fifth best time in school history
- An event win by Miles marks the first time since 2017 that the Mocs have placed first in an event against FSU

The women return home to prep for their first home meet of the season to take on Indian River State College November 5
th, set for a noon start.
